Frequently asked Questions
The rental includes delivery or collection of the rented vehicle, plus a daily mileage quota. This varies from provider to provider. Supercars are often limited to 250 kilometers a day. Economy cars, SUVs, and similar often have a limit of around 250 to 300 kilometers per day. Exceeding the mileage limit will result in an additional fee. Additionally, customers receive car insurance, civil liability insurance, and more.
It is easy to find suitable parking all over Accra or any other city your rental package allows. The city has many open-air, roadside, and underground car parks. Be aware that some spaces are restricted to parking time limit or no parking. The driver is responsible for car parking fees and any associated fines accrued.
Delivery can be arranged on a case by case basis. In most situations, delivery of a car to a prearranged destination is possible. Most of our partners provide this service. But some may limit delivery to particular nearby locations.
The deposit will be refunded when the rental agreement has been completed. After the car is handed back in good condition and fully inspected, the deposit will be released. However, it can take up to 28 days for the amount to fully process. This can sometimes be the case in the event of extra costs, such as fines for using tolls. All things being equal, refunds should take less than 48 working hours.
Customers must make a deposit when renting a car. This is an insurance policy to cover the provider against any damage or costs. The amount will be held until the end of the rental agreement. Provided no damage or costs are incurred, the deposit will be fully refunded within 48 working hours. Please note: cars with a higher price tag will require a larger deposit than economy vehicles.
We charge rental fees on a day-to-day basis, using the 24-hour time format. For instance, a day’s car rental agreement from 14.00 hours will finish at 14.00 the following day. It is important for all customers to double-check the return date and time in order to prevent additional fees.
If a customer makes a traffic violation and a fine is issued, it is the responsibility of the driver to pay the fine. The vast majority of roads in Accra and other major cities have sophisticated cameras. Speed limits are clearly signposted on most thoroughfares. We recommend staying within the speed limit and respecting traffic regulations at all times.
Yes. We provide a 24-hour Autocare Service that helps with breakdowns and accidents. In cases where there is a mechanical fault, we can arrange technical assistance. Or, if the vehicle cannot be repaired at the roadside, a flatbed truck for transportation to a nearby garage is arranged. Tinch operates a dedicated support service for breakdowns and accidents.
There are a few things not included in the rental price. The rental does not cover the use of fuel, car parking (e.g. Airport), road tolls (e.g Motorway), Overuse (in terms of millage and hours) or traffic fines.
Yes. Most car rental providers using the TinchApp platform will offer Chauffer service. Often there is an additional charge. However, provided the driver has a valid license and documentation, there is no reason why they cannot enjoy driving the vehicle. However, you’ll be responsible for any damages or fines incurred by this person whiles driving the vehicle.
Of course. It is simple to extend the rental period of any car on our platform. Just get in touch with our Support Team, who will ensure the car is available. After contact, a representative will be in touch to agree a rental extension and arrange payment.
It depends on the country of origin. Ghana residents simply need a valid Ghana driving license. Visitors to Ghana must produce additional paperwork. However, this is usually straightforward and can be completed within a short order. A passport, visa with entry stamp, and a valid home country license is usually all that is required. If you have International Drivers License, you should be fine to go.
With Tinchapp, you are required to be at least 21 years to rent a car from our platform. You can however drive on public roads in Ghana once you’re 18 years and above. However, if you’re planning to drive commercial vehicles such as ride hailing and vans, the law requires that you be at least 25 years old.
All the rental cars we list on TinchApp come with a standard mileage limit. The number of miles allocated usually depends on the length of the rental agreement. But since we aggregate listings from all of the top car rental agencies, the mileage limit can vary. A few providers may offer unlimited mileage too. And it is also possible to quote for a bespoke mileage package. In most cases, exceeding the mileage quoted will incur additional costs. Having a good idea of the number of miles needed is a great way to stay in budget.
Renting a car in Ghana is relatively inexpensive. But this depends on the type and prestige of vehicle. High-end supercars invariably cost more than budget brands. Economy cars can be rented from around Ghs350 per day. SUVs are available from Ghs450. While luxury and supercar brands can cost upwards of Ghs1,000 per day.
The TinchApp platform has a comprehensive range of cars for all occasions and budgets. This includes luxury cars like Rolls-Royce, supercars like Ferrari and Porsche, and more economical options, such as Hyndai, Honda and Chevrolet. A full range of car designs are also available, including SUVs, vans, trucks, sedans, hatchbacks, and more.
